Apache Trail

This weekend we went up a road called the Apache Trail which was originally a trade road back in the early 1900's and then expanded when the Roosevelt Dam was built. You can drive up to the dam, but we stop in a place called Tortilla Flats before the pavement ends. Along this road are three big man made lakes from damming. We only saw Canyon Lake, which was packed with boats despite temps around 110 F. There were lots of Mexicans picnicking too. Someday, when someone comes and visits us, we are going to go all the way to the dam.
