Peralta Trail

Here are a handful of photos that we took over six weeks ago. We took advantage of an awesome weekend day to hike in the Superstition Mountains to the East of Phoenix. The trail was packed - likely due to a typically gorgeous Arizona spring day with plenty of sun and a high around 75 F. It's now getting a bit warmer with highs creeping slowly up to the 90 F mark, but every day is still sunny with beautiful blue skies.

At the top was an excellent view of Weaver's Needle. This was the turn-around point of our hike. You can continue on to the needle but we were hungry and running low on water and decided to head back. The trail was a steady climb, about 4.5 miles and required about three hours to complete. The elevation gain was 1,500 ft making us have to work on the way up.
