Sedona Con't
Most of the pictures we took while hiking turned out poorly. The hike was through a narrow canyon which provided lots of shade despite very intense sunlight. All of the photos that were of the surrounding scenery that included either the sky or the rocks with direct sunlight were exposed for the shaded bits but the sun hit areas were so washed out, they just appeared white. Here's a few that made it:
Those are Pink Jeeps in the background that provide 4x4 tours of Sedona. This is at the a vista on Schnebly Hill Road which is a rougher dirt road but which could probably be (carefully) navigated by a Honda Civic. The Pink Jeeps are a bit overkill...

Rob these came out great. Love the leading lines in the shot with Chico in the forest. And Jess with the old leafless tree is amazing as well.
When you have such dramatically contrasting exposures, it makes you understand why HDR is such a popular photography style now. The iPhone 4 had it automatically. Crazy.
