Wildfire

This morning at 6:00am on my way to work, there was a distinct smoke cloud standing out since the sky was perfectly clear. I thought it may be a brush fire and I took a picture with my phone while exiting the 202 onto the 1o. The smoke stayed black all morning until about 100pm when it turned white, indicating that they have begun to make some progress fighting the fire. Fire retardant dropping airplanes began making runs right over our heads at work since the fire is only about 5 miles away. It was insane to see them disappear into the smoke and emerge again 15 seconds later out the other side. I thought it was all pretty amazing to watch since I've never seen a wildfire before. The wind is low, but the level of fuel is high there so maybe I'll have more spectacular photos.

Oh, and today at work, I got to play with those riot flash-bangs that make a huge white flash and an extreme loud bang. That was fun.
